Here are some answers to some common questions we hear along the way:

Why work with TSS Recruitment?

We know the market. This is what we do all day every day. We will take the time to understand your specific requirements and give you honest feedback in regards to expectations around the candidate, your vacancy and the salary you are willing to pay. We then handle every aspect of the process on your behalf, from advertising to screening and interviewing, skills assessments, reference checking and negotiating the offer, the immigration process and arrival of your new employee.

What happens if the person I hire leaves?

We offer a 3-month guarantee on all hires and will replace a candidate free of charge. The current retention rate of our candidates is 96% after 12 months, so it is not very often that a replacement is necessary, but when it does happen you are covered.

What about advertising?

We cover the cost of advertising and place advertisements on job boards both locally and internationally. We use social media and our own website to advertise. If you are looking to run a branded ad campaign we can advise you on the costs and time frames involved.

How do you interview your candidates when they are not in Australia?

Not only do we initially screen our candidates over the phone, we run an extensive vetting procedure, conducted offshore by Australian Assessors from William Angliss Institute. Our candidates are industry professionals with extensive experience (not students making a career change to hospitality). We interview our candidates via Skype and also request videos and photos of themselves cooking to demonstrate their particular skill set.

What do you need from me to get the best result in filling the role?

All you need to do is tell us exactly what you want and communicate any changes to us in a timely manner. We will be able to advise you in regards to the available candidates, realistic salary expectations and anything else of relevance that we have experienced while recruiting in the hospitality sector.

What does TSS Recruitment actually do for me during the recruitment process?

TSS Recruitment will prepare and place an relevant ads, manage the ad response, tap into our existing database of candidates and conduct a search on your behalf, screen candidates, interview candidates and present a shortlist of suitable candidates to you. We will then liaise with you and the candidates to set up suitable interview times. Once the interviews have been conducted we will follow up with the candidates and with your team and organize further interviews when necessary. We will inform those who have not been successful. We conduct all reference checks and negotiate an offer on your behalf. We can assist with the preparation of the Letter of Offer and will manage the visa application process from beginning to end. Once the visa application has been approved we will organize travel and a relevant start date for the candidate.

What about salary? What should I be paying the candidate? Can you advise me?

We can advise you on a suitable salary depending on the level of the candidate. The minimum salary for anyone being sponsored on a 457 visa is $53,900 plus superannuation. We can assist you with salary negotiations.

What about the Immigration part?

We have dedicated Migration Agents in-house who are specialists in lodging visa sponsorship applications for the hospitality industry. Our team will advise you every step of the way in regards to the documentation and information required from you in order to hire an employee from offshore. You will be personally looked after by a Registered Migration Agent from the TSS team.
